First Goodnight

Rylan wishes everyone goodnight!

Thanks Dr. Windom!

Couple More Pics

RYLAN IS HERE!

Rylan made her grand entrance at 6:20am today. She weighed 7lbs 12oz and is 20" long. She is the most beautiful sight we have ever laid eyes on!! Alli did great during the procedure and daddy stayed firmly planted on his feet! Baby and mommy are doing well now. Thank you again for all the prayers! God has blessed us deeply with this sweet baby girl!

C-Section

Alli stayed around 2cm all night long and the doctor has decided to do a c-section at 6:00am.
We will get to meet Rylan within an hour!! Alli is doing well right now. We'll post another update when we can.

Midnight Update

Alli just got her epidural and has dilated to 2cm now. They told us average progression is about 1cm/hour on a mother's first baby. If that is the case, it will definitely be daylight before she arrives. I meant to mention earlier that Emily Hawthorne is here with us and has been soooo helpful! Per her advice, we are about to try to get a little bit of sleep so we'll be ready to rock-n-roll when the time comes. Goodnight for now!

Progressing Slowly

Everything is going well so far, but progression is slow. She is still only 1cm dilated, but has thinned out a lot. They are starting a pitocin drip at 10:00 to create stronger contractions. The pill they gave her when she first got here created lots of mild contractions, but not much progress; and the baby didn't seem to like it very much at first either. The doctor said there is a 60% chance of C-section based on the circumstances she came in under (1st baby, no contractions, baby sitting high, not dilating much yet). We are going to go see how things progress through the rest of the night and may make a decision on that if we need to around 6:00 - 7:00 am. We'll keep posting as we can.

IT'S TIME!!

Ok, Allison's water broke this afternoon around 2:45 while we were at Target. We got to the hospital at about 5:00, checked in, and are settled in to our delivery room now. Alli has not had any contractions yet, so they just gave her a pill to help get those going. Thanks for all the well-wishes and prayers! We'll post updates and pictures as we can.

Mommy patiently awaiting Rylan's arrival

Rylan Taking Her Time

So, Rylan has seemingly decided to enter this world at her own pace...slow. Our doctor made an attempt to send Alli into labor over the course of the weekend, but so far it has not worked and we are still at home carrying on normal day-to-day activities. Our next appointment is not until Thursday, April 2, at which time they will induce with drugs. Full term (40 weeks) will be on April 3rd. We never thought we would make it that long, but it seems more and more possible as each day passes.
